Reputable breeders love and care for their dogs.  They don't overbreed their animals, meaning they limit the number of pregnancies of their breeding dogs to keep them healthy and fit. The dogs are treated like family members, loved, cherished and given space to run. They live in clean facilities and have regular check-ups with a veterinarian.

Puppy mills, however, are places where the breeding dogs may be confined in unsanitary conditions, or bred over and over, compromising their health and the health of their puppies.
