There is so much more to this story than I can write here. However, I should mention the support we received from our fabulous vets, Dr. Kraabel and Dr. Fisher at Lien Animal Clinic in West Seattle, my breeder Carolyn at Slow Low Rider Basset Hounds, and the off-leash community who followed the story of Charlee and Buddy and behaved like a bunch of expectant aunts and uncles.

At six weeks old, we brought the puppies to the park to meet everyone. It was pouring with rain and miserable. We were heartened at the reception.  Many people clustered under the shelter in the middle of the off-leash park and waited patiently for their turn to greet the puppies. Next slide
